First etsy purchase June 18, 2007

I’ve done it!!

I’ve been on Etsy so many times, but there’s just too much choice and too much nice stuff.  But I’ve gone and done it and purchased some illustrations, hopefully to hang in the living room when it’s decorated (that’s another story!).

It took me two nights to decide, but I love the ones I’ve chosen, they remind me of outsider art, I’ve got the book Raw Creation, and have bought the Raw Vision magazine a couple of times.  I like the fact that these people are self taught.

Anyway here’s my pics bought from Yellena

It was a hard decision to make and there’s still some other’s I’ve got my eye on, like this one, and this one, and this one, and this one, and this one, I told you there was too many.  If anyone out there is looking to buy me a prezzie look no further!!

I’m also having some images printed up by my talented younger brother, he’s 17 and taking a photography course. He should sell these on Etsy.

Hope fully it won’t be too long to my next post, I still need to photograph the spring quilt, and I’ll be able to post finished workroom shots soon (shouted loud so the husband can hear).  But for now tata.

I love this from http://www.raspberry.co.uk/, I’d thought about adding buttons to my sling pocket embroidery. I might experiment, or save it for another design.

2 hours of cutting later and the magnetic paper dolls were done, it was all worthwhile, L’s hardly put them down.  The magnetic board that we bought at the charity shop last week came in handy, we’d been using a metal drinks tray before that.

She’s acquired chicken pox in the last couple of days too, so very timely!!!  I might start a list of chicken pox friendly activities, sticking and glueing didn’t go down too well this morning though!!

I knew I’d be bad at keeping this regular, but not this bad!!  I have got a couple of excuses, being 34/35 weeks pregnant, doesn’t help, I’m having a homebirth so that’s taking a priority.  Plus we’ve had stinking colds.

I’ve have been crafty though, I just need to get into the habit of photographing/uploading/blogging, I don’t know how to manage all this info.  For a start we have two cameras, then we’ve got two computers, so the stuffs always in the wrong place at the wrong time!!!!

I managed to make an amigurumi for my daughter, it’s only been in the little bag once!!, but she loves the bunny

He’s not perfect, but this is only my second attempt at crocheting, so I don’t think it’s that bad.

That’s all for now, but I’m hoping to add some more stuff this week, batteries, camera, computer permitting!!

Workroom Ideas January 4, 2007

I’ve started to tidy up my workroom, god knows it needed it.  I work from home, and have a small room, and it’s full, not of work stuff, but craft stuff from the christmas period.  We’ve been in the house nearly two years and it’s remained the same as when we moved in, and it desperatley needs inspiration and organisation, for work and play.  So I’ve been having a nosey around the web and come across some nice spaces that I’m so jealous of.

My husband bought me The Crafter’s Companion book, which also has some lovely inspiring pictures in.

Happy New Year December 31, 2006

Now that chritmas is over, I can post what I’ve been upto in the last month or so. Sleepytoes is usually quiet this time of year, so I had lots of time to make christmas prezzies.

Here’s a few, still need to photograph a couple of things I made for my daughter.

Felt sewing kit

I made this kit for my mum, including the shrinky dink pins, she was really pleased with it. I made a larger version of the origami bag below to put it all in.

Russian doll

Doll, inspired by russian dolls made for a friends daughter (I hope she liked it). I also made the origami bag for it to go in, (I can’t find the tutorial for it at the moment but when I do I’ll add it, it’s so easy)

Felt bus and car bag

Made for my friends son, he’s mad on cars and also likes soft toys.  I found the pattern in an Aranzi Aronzo book, and made him little drawstring bag to keep his cars in.

Hat & Scarf

Ribbed hat and scarf knitted for my dad, fits just right too.  Also made a hat for my daughter, pink with a bear embroidered on though!!!

Bear Hat

I’ve got a few more things to post, but they’ll have to wait for another day, it’s taken me 3 attempts to get this far, just getting the hang of using flickr to post pics!!!

 See you in 2007
